        In  September 2010 our school launched a new field of study – Bilingual English-Slovak Education.

        It is a 5-year study aimed at providing modern grammar-school education corresponding to the newest  knowledge, education experience and trends here and abroad.

        The curriculum is designed on basis of  the State Education Programme requests for bilingual schools. Its main ambition is to supply students with high-quality competences in the whole range of  natural and social sciences and suitable language competence, so that they are able to continue their studies at  a large variety of universities in Slovakia as well as abroad.

        School Education Programme will help to reach the above- mentioned goals, as  it offers  a great fundament in the general grammar-school education subjects  which are obligatory. At the same time, it si possible for the students to focus on their field of interest thanks to a wide offer of  optional subjects.

        The first of the bilingual education serves as intensive language preparation for the study of specific subjects in English the following years.

        The intensive language preparation is divided into 16 English lessons a week:

        Course Book Classes (6)

        Conversation (2)

        Drama (2)

        Introduction to Natural Sciences (1)

        Introduction to Social Sciences (1)

        In the following years ( 2-5) students  receive new knowledge in respect to the curriculum for particular year, while the general education subjects ( Mathematics, Geography, History, Biology, Chemistry, IT, Arts and Culture) are taught partly or completely in English. The lessons of English as a subject are reduced to 6-4 and are divided into:

        Course Book Classes

        Conversation or optional additionalclasses  (Literature, Global Studies, Public Speaking, Academic  Reading/Writing, Business English, etc.)

        Supplementary forms of education in years  2 – 4 are represented by the communication  within the international projects  of COMENIUS and UNESCO and by various language courses in English speaking countries (acc,to interest and possibilities).
